8 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (May 19)

2. Come On, Dave

In recent times, we've not seen too much of Dave Crist actually wrestling, typically found at ringside while either Jake Crist, Madman Fulton, or Sami Callihan wrestled instead. He was, however, in action this week against Crazzy Steve, a match that wasn't nearly as good as the expectations it had heading in.

Both men are known for their wild antics in-ring - for Crazzy Steve, it's even in his name. As a result, it came as a surprise when this match was fought at a rather slow pace for the majority of the contest. Granted, Steve did bust out some quick offence from the get-go, including a succession of corner lariats and a nice little cannonball, but Dave slowed things down dramatically as soon as he gained control. It wasn't necessarily a terrible match per se, but it just wasn't what we've come to expect from the Crist brother, as he mostly left the beatdown side of things to Jake and Madman at ringside.

A diving DDT gained the win for Steve, which was the right result. We'll get to what happened post-match in a moment. Let's just say hopefully it opens the door for the Dave Crist of old to get back on track.
