8 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 10)

4. Tag Teams Spotlighted

Over the past few months, it's been truly wonderful to see the tag team division spotlighted in Impact Wrestling main events on countless occasions. The Motor City Machine Guns, The North, The Good Brothers, and Ace Austin and Madman Fulton are all to thank for this, with those two middle teams on display here, as Josh Alexander battled Karl Anderson.

As expected, both were accompanied by their respective partners, Ethan Page and Doc Gallows. It came as a surprise, however, that neither man got involved until the finish of the match, leaving 'The Walking Weapon' and 'The Machine Gun' to it. While the match wasn't exceptional, it still delivered. Anderson, despite having no relations to the acclaimed wrestling Anderson family, is capable of quite the Spinebuster that would make even Arn proud.

Ethan Page would assault Karl from behind, leading to a disqualification win for the Good Brother, and a pull-apart brawl to end the show. A fine brawl for what it was, as it helped build towards Saturday's World Tag Team Championships contest, but a supplemental Down for only one out of six security guards donning a face mask for the occasion.

Last week's match between Ethan Page and Doc Gallows was considerably better than Alexander vs. Anderson, but that's putting nothing against the latter match as it was still a fine contest. It could have done with a clean end seeing as it was the main event, though. A brawl to end proceedings is fine, but having them stare each other down as the show faded to black as opposed to continuing the brawl was a minor error in this writer's mind.
