8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (28 Nov - Review)

Ups…

8. The Perfect S*** Heel

Rhea Ripley Dominik Mysterio

It’s not clear how long he can keep this up, but if Dominik Mysterio can find a way to keep this act going, he can be one of the most hated villains despite being merely passable in the ring and fairly unimposing.

Mysterio seconded Rhea Ripley for her match against Mia Yim and blocked Michin from hitting a dive, which prompted Yim to bring Dom into the ring and threatened to pummel him. After Ripley saved him, Dominik proceeded to dance around still inside the ring, cheering Rhea on. This led to a DQ brawl with Judgment Day and the OC, setting up the eight-person match.

During that match, Mysterio did his usual heel shtick of being overmatched but sneaking in to get his licks in and getting out quickly. The fun part is that fans are in on the joke, that Dominik is nowhere near as good as his father – or the Brooklyn Brawler – and that he’ll get throttled if he stays in these tag matches.

And indeed, Luke Gallows caught him with one punch, which sent Dom flailing and bailing. It was almost too comical, but it was perfect. He also almost got suplexed by Yim, but his Mami had to save him. Wonderful.
