8 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 18)

3. Billy vs. Alan '5' Angels

Billy Gunn
AEW

Setting up a future tag between the Gunn Club and Dark Order was the aim here, as Austin saved father Billy from a three-on-one beatdown after the former WWE star's victory over Alan Angels, who'd been joined by Alex Reynolds and John Silver.

There was little to take away from the bout itself. Billy is a house show worker now, which is fine, though it's odd that AEW keeps spotlighting him over his son. The size difference between him and Angels was borderline hilarious at times and while '5' came through as high-effort as always, this was pretty bland on the whole.

Billy reprised his old One and Only finisher (a sleeper slam) for the win.
