8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 7)
3. Northern Strong Style
In early 2019, the tag team division in Impact was dominated by two teams: The Lucha Bros and LAX. Both of those teams now having moved on to All Elite Wrestling has allowed other teams to make a name for themselves in Impact, with one of those pairings being The North.
The duo of Ethan Page and Josh Alexander have really made a home in Impact's doubles division, capturing the World Tag Team Championships from Ortiz and Santana two days before Slammiversary. They're an old school style of team in a way, in the sense that they wear matching coloured gear and use some unique tag team offence to dominate their opponents. It's things like that which allow 'All Ego' and 'The Walking Weapon' to rise through the ranks in Impact Wrestling.
A short video package that aired this week highlighted their rise to the top, showing their pure destruction over everyone who's stood in their way. There isn't really a single moment that Page and Alexander waste when they're being used, whether it be physically wrestling or just doing a short bit backstage. Near-enough every match the pair have had in Impact has been superb, to say the least.
We didn't even need a video to showcase how good the Canadian tandem actually are because they put in the biggest effort they possibly can each and every time. Win, lose, or draw at Hard to Kill, that fact will remain the same for as long as Page and Alexander are teaming together.
