8 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2025

3. If They’ve Got To Go…

As mentioned earlier, the rapid elimination of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk was quite the gut punch to the men’s Royal Rumble and deflated the in-ring action.

But outside the ring, the three of them were only getting started.

Punk and Roman began arguing while laying on the floor, only for Rollins to fly in with a stomp on Roman, bouncing his head off the floor. Seth and Punk then went at it as officials tried to separate them. Rollins would then stomp Roman’s head on the ring steps and then continued the brawl with Punk, who was equally pissed about being bounced from the Rumble and denied a clear path to a WrestleMania main event.

With all three men out of the title picture (for now), it raised a question of what’s next for them, and clearly their paths are still intertwined, so perhaps WWE is looking at a triple threat, or sticking them in the Elimination Chamber. Either way, the Rumble sometimes is at its best when several possible directions are visible for various wrestlers. It builds interest and allows fans to get invested.
