8 Ups & 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 26)
3. Falls Count Anywhere
It's settled, then: Shane McMahon is definitely jumping off some really, really tall sh*t at WrestleMania 35.
The Falls Count Anywhere stipulation guarantees it. His fight with The Miz is going to spill all over the arena, and a coast-to-coast dropkick or elbow drop to the announce table won't be enough to stifle the 49-year-old's urge to almost kill himself. Shane's going to fly, baby, and we're here for it.
This gimmick came around when The Miz hit the ring at the top of the second hour, cutting another well-scripted, fiery babyface promo on his former tag team partner. He claimed that he wanted to make sure that everyone in the MetLife Stadium would see him destroy the former SmackDown Commissioner, hence the stipulation.
Out came McMahon, preceded by a horde of security stuff, a bunch of undercard nerds, and introduced, of course, by a typically enthusiastic Greg Hamilton. His diatribe gave the impression that footage of him abusing Miz's father at Fastlane made him erect. McMahon then called the stipulation request the biggest "Miz-take" since Miz Sr. got Mrs. Mizanin pregnant, and the deal was done, with Miz single-handedly battering a couple dozen weaklings to close.
The promos were tremendous, as is the stipulation. Bring it on.
