8 Ups & 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 26)

5. Why Is This A Thing?

This Dominick Mysterio thing is weird. Really, really weird.

There's no logical reason for Rey's son to be at ringside for his dad's WrestleMania 35 clash with Samoa Joe. It's like the former World Heavyweight Champion has learned nothing from what typically happens when outside family members get involved in wrestling bouts, and he need only look as far back as Fastlane, when Shane McMahon abused The Miz's father. From his character's standpoint, this is a dumb, dumb, move.

Rey's promo was pure filler, adding nothing to the 'Mania bout. A WWE.com exclusive, it saw Dominick assert that Joe only card about himself, and his dad promise to "teach Joe a lesson" when he "sticks up for his family at 'Mania."

But, like... why?! Why is he sticking up for his family? What, exactly, has Joe done to put his family under threat so far? You're the one bringing Dom into the equation, man.

This is a big bag of b*llocks, but at least it should be a good match.
