As the NXT Tag Team Championship match between the Street Profits and the Undisputed Era began, it felt like the two teams were on slightly different pages to start.

But as the contest progressed, it quickly became clear that they were in sync and putting on a hell of a match. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins each spent time on the receiving end of a heel beatdown, but there was plenty of back-and-forth action, with Ford’s crazy athleticism on display. Kyle O’Reilly’s striking offense also got a nice showcase as always.

A really fun highlight came when Ford appeared to go for a People’s Elbow – to a huge reaction from the Toronto crowd – only to be cut off. So Montez fought off both men and proceeded to nail a Rock Bottom on Bobby Fish – for a close 2 count.

The Profits would retain in a solid opener, with only one drawback: Ford spent a lot of time in an O’Reilly heel hook, but he ignored the damaged ankle later in the match, which was a little disappointing. Still, it was a really good match to kick off the show.
