8 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT Takeover: Unstoppable
2. Enzo And Big Cass Have A Shelf Life
Wednesday, the duo of Blake and Murphy successfully retained their NXT Tag Team Championships against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy. While the match was fine and the champs retaining was a good move, it highlights the fact that Enzo and Cass have been teaming together for nearly two years, which probably makes them the most-senior tag team in NXT with no tag gold to show for it. The problem is compounded because the duos shtick eventually is going to get old, even in NXT. The fans love chanting along, but no static act stays popular forever. For Enzo and Cass, winning the tag titles or moving up to WWE needs to come soon. The good news is that they put on a pretty good performance Wednesday, which can help lend them some goodwill with fans and extend their shelf life. But if they are still doing the same routine with little to no changes six months from now, it might be a very different story.
