8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 8)

1. No 50/50 Booking!

Oh, we’ve got to give kudos to WWE for this one. The moment a Cesaro/Sheamus rematch was announced, you had to feel a knot in your stomach that the Celtic Warrior was going to find a way to win, giving each man one win apiece and setting up the dreaded rubber match for either next week or SummerSlam.

But somehow, that wasn’t to be. Instead, Cesaro scored a rollup and got the pin after a hard-fought bout, winning two matches in a row against Sheamus. The moment that had to have everyone believing in 50/50 booking came when Cesaro went for the Neutralizer as he did last week, but Sheamus backdropped out of it. Cesaro ran the ropes and Sheamus went for the Brogue Kick… but Cesaro ducked it and got a two-count off a rollup instead.

Sure, we could find out next week that Cesaro’s two wins (including a weak rollup) aren’t enough to be considered “physical dominance” by Mick Foley, but at least we didn’t get these two trading wins in the midcard for a change.
