Heels have long used footage they want you to see to make their points during in-ring segments. However, that is often predicated on one thing: the babyfaces (or at least the announcers) will point out the inconsistencies.

That didn’t happen Monday night when Triple H and Shawn Michaels showed footage from Super Show-Down of Hunter’s match against The Undertaker. The footage left out much of HBK’s constant interference, dumbing it down to one interjection and one superkick. It left out the numerous attempts to interfere (although it was no-DQ, so it was allowed) and other interjections.

And then they cut right to the Brothers of Destruction breaking up a kumbaya moment to attack HBK and HHH (the dastardly villains!). Now, while this isn’t a horrible crime, the fact that it was just treated as gospel when anyone could watch the PPV and see that HBK was all but asking to be attacked leaves this as a negative.

Maybe Taker will come out to correct the record next week, but it just felt a little wrong to overlook the facts of what happened 48 hours earlier.
