When Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE at WrestleMania XXXIII, it was a legit shock and a great moment that fans won’t forget any time soon. And as much as they didn’t need them, the Hardys winning the Raw Tag Team Championships was a perfectly fine deal.

But two months later, the Hardys have shown that they’re far more than a nostalgia act and are capable of getting it done in the ring. So it made perfect sense for them to drop the tag titles to Cesaro & Sheamus Sunday night, and they did so in a match where they still looked strong and lost in a photo finish to escape from a steel cage.

The bout featured a lot of climbing and fighting on the top of the cage, but it ultimately came down to a race between Cesaro & Sheamus climbing over the top and Matt dragging his brother Jeff to and through the door. With the titles off their waists, the Hardys will likely find a new feud, possibly with a returning Revival, which could be outstanding.
