The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match kicked off WrestleMania and looked like it was going to be pretty pedestrian at the outset.

Things moved along as a basic, deliberate pace, as if they were trying to get their feet under them without a crowd, but the Kabuki Warriors and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross picked up the action in the second half, with Cross whipping herself into a frenzy and everyone kicking it up a notch. There was a nice moment with Kairi Sane breaking up a pinfall with an Insane Elbow, and then Bliss breaking up the Asuka Lock with Twisted Bliss.

The finish saw Nikki persevere through a Doomsday Device/Hart Attack hybrid from the Warrior, allowing Bliss to hit Twisted Bliss on Sane for the pin and the tag titles. Good for them, as Sane and Asuka hadn’t defended them since December.
