As great a job as Sasha Banks and Charlotte did selling their Women’s Championship Hell in a Cell match, a huge chunk of credit has to go to Raw GM Mick Foley, who delivered a barn-burner of a promo about the cell and how it changes lives.

Foley, of course, is the perfect person to deliver such a promo, given his history with that match. But it would be fair to be a little skeptical given Foley’s sometimes uneven performance as GM. He’s taken a backseat to Stephanie McMahon at times, and been less than impressive at others. But Monday, he lectured Sasha and Charlotte about the cell and how it changed lives.

The cell, according to Mick, has no soul, no heart, and no conscience. He used himself as an example of the women’s future, noting that he limps badly, has hip and back pain and has been changed forever. It was a riveting promo, drawing huge cheers from fans and adding even more drama to the Sasha/Charlotte feud.

Masterfully done.
