8 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 9th)

1. Is Steph Playing Shane?

A half-hearted kudos to WWE for doing something you wouldn€™t have predicted by having Shane and Stephanie McMahon getting along as co-GMs of Raw. When it was announced that brother and sister would share control of the program, it seemed like they would just squabble and try to one-up and overrule the other, but they€™ve gelled, with Stephanie saying her brother€™s ideas for a new era are worthwhile.

Of course, she€™s a McMahon, and more of a chip off the old block than Shane ever was. If anything, Stephanie is luring Shane into a false sense of security before lashing out at him or trying to take back control of Raw. It just doesn€™t make sense that she would acquiesce so quickly (Payback was just last week), which means that Shane is either gullible, or he is keeping his true views masked.

It would be nice if WWE slowed it down a little and let this develop over a longer period €“ you get the feeling after Stephanie€™s look toward Shane off-screen at the end of Raw that some plot twist is coming at Extreme Rules. But overall, this is at least different than brother and sister just squabbling.
