8 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 9th)

Downs...

7. Hey, He€™s 7 Feet Tall! Push Him!

Let€™s establish this right away before a flood of negative comments ensue: This is not a criticism of Big Cass being pushed as a solo star while Enzo Amore is out injured. This is, however, a criticism of WWE (namely Vince McMahon) for being oh-so-predictable for pushing a 7-footer.

Big Cass deserves every opportunity to succeed (rather than sit on the sidelines while his partner is out). But it€™s crazy to think that an already-popular character like Damien Sandow was completely squandered and ultimately released last week. Other NXT stars have been brushed aside a matter of weeks after debuting €“ most notably Neville, who went from rising star and former NXT champ to part of the WWE background scenery in a couple months.

While it€™s great to see Cass take center stage, you can€™t help but feel that if he wasn€™t 7 feet tall, he wouldn€™t be getting this shot. Consider this: If the situation was reversed and Cass was out, would Enzo be getting a spotlight like this? Again, not to say that he doesn€™t deserve the shot, but it certainly helped that Vince loves big guys, and Cass happens to be 7 feet tall and you can€™t teach that.
