8 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2017

1. A Massive Car Crash

When the fatal four-way match for the WWE Universal Championship was announced, you knew it had the potential to be a destructive, nonstop demolition derby of a bout. And that’s exactly what we got.

Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe tore up the ringside area, demolishing all three announce tables, the barricade and ring steps. They speared, punched, suplexed and choked each other out. The fast-paced action led to Brock being hauled off on a stretcher, only to return shortly thereafter to reenter the fray and ultimately prevail, defeating Roman cleanly, no less.

That has to be a shocker – Brock was supposed to be going to UFC, and even if that fell through, you had to assume that they’d take the title off him just because of the limited dates he’s available. Also, it was shocking that Reigns took the fall, rather than Joe being the sacrificial lamb. Is Roman in the doghouse? Or is WWE building the WrestleMania case that Reigns can’t win the big one against Brock?
