Want a proper babyfaced horrible boss? Mick Foleys first act as WWF Commissioner on Monday Night RAW on the 26th June 2000 is to meander his way through a promo with Triple H and Kurt Angle, before making a match that night to decide the number one contender for The Rocks WWF Championship. Foley concedes that Angle, the recent King Of The Ring, deserves the title shot, but that hes sufficiently intimidated by Triple H (the man who ended his career) that hes placing him in the running too. Triple H versus Angle to decide who faces The Rock? This is like a wrestling dream come true, right? Nah. Because Foleys made the number one contenders main event a triple threat match, and the third man is The Rock. Thats right, the WWF Champion is facing both potential number one contenders in the match to decide who gets to be the number one contender. A further stipulation says that if The Rock wins, he doesnt have to face either of them. Now, we get that Chris Benoit is going to be the real number one contender and face The Rock at Fully Loaded, and so this match isnt really for the number one contendership. Real Life Foley knows that, but Wrestling Character Foley doesnt. Hes just made a match thats potentially better and more exciting than the pay-per-view match its supposed to promote, and booked it on free television. Hes also placing the main event of Fully Loaded in jeopardy, because if The Rock wins (and he does), then he has no one to face, both potential number one contenders having been ruled out. One too many chair shots, Mick
