8 Worst Ever WWE Survivor Series Eliminations

2. The Legion Of Doom And Demolition Get DQ'd - Survivor Series 1990

The introduction of the Legion of Doom to World Wrestling Entertainment in 1990 set the stage for a dream match featuring the duo formerly known as the Road Warriors and Vince McMahon's BDSM gear-wearing answer to the team, Demolition. Though they were essentially ripoffs of Hawk and Animal, Ax and Smash had earned the reputation of one of wrestling's elite tag teams, thanks to outstanding matches with the likes of the Hart Foundation, the Rockers, the Brain Busters and Strike Force. Still, no matter how good they became or how over they were, they could not escape the constant comparisons to the Road Warriors, who were dominating tag team wrestling in Jim Crockett Promotions and the NWA. By the time Hawk and Animal arrived, though, Ax had undergone health issues that led to him being replaced in the ring by newcomer Crush. Thus, the only chance fans would have of seeing the teams clash on a grand stage was that year's Survivor Series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iljFbumfsKQ Unfortunately, that much-anticipated clash would last mere moments as Ax was eliminated rather quickly, courtesy of a big splash by WWE champion The Ultimate Warrior. Then, Crush and Smash would brawl with Animal and Hawk, leading to a double-disqualification. With both teams gone, any chance die hard fans of pro wrestling had of seeing them wage war, with a definitive winner and loser, evaporated. Sure, there would be matches all over the country pitting the L.O.D. and the Ultimate Warrior against all three members of Demolition, but those matches were never the hotly anticipated contests that people wanted to see. That Demolition was on its last legs the further out they got from Survivor Series only hurt matters. Thus, the elimination of Demolition and the Legion of Doom by double disqualification at the 1990 event ruined one of the last big money matches the company had for several years.
