Sometimes words are hard.

A good promo is the lifeblood of a performer and can make or break him in terms of making it to the top of the card and getting over with the audience. A wrestler who doesn't have chops on the mic rarely gets a chance to rise above the midcard. In major promotions, namely WWE, some superstars get to the top based on look alone and not the merit of the character they portray.

With the entertainment aspect of the sport making up a large chunk of the TV time, it can get tricky, or hilarious, when someone has trouble trying to convey a message. Live microphones, over sized meat heads, and screaming audiences make for a fun combination and great list material.

The best promos encompass the passion, message, and character of a superstar. A good talker can think on his feet and react to the audience as well as call an audible should the desired reaction go awry. Some of the best talkers of all time had the ability to read an audience and break the script to deliver impassioned messages to get their character over. In addition to conveying a message from storyline, a good talker needs to have vocabulary fitting of his character and truly should "live the gimmick". The best of all time did this, the worst tried but fell short.

Here are the 8 worst talkers in WWE history.

8. The Great Khali

This one may not be fair considering Khali is from India and doesn't speak coherent English, but why did they ever let him have a live mic? Once WWE realized he couldn't move around, much less wrestle, they placed him in a variety of comedy sketches that absolutely sucked. It is understandable why they did this, they had to justify paying an almost 7 figure downside guarantee to someone who couldn't work. Nice signing Johnny Ace.

How brutal. Khali's segments were sometimes funny but I felt bad laughing at him in situations such as this. WWE took pleasure in making fun of him even more when they made him a "boy toy" character kissing Mae Young and being Nattie's love guru. Be A Star WWE, not a bully. It is a shame that any amount of time was spent on him even in comedic situations and sad that Khali was ever a thing.
