8 Wrestlers Triple H Can’t Get Over In WWE

5. Heel New Day

On 2 December 2024, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston deployed one of the greatest heel turns in modern pro wrestling when they unexpectedly berated Big E for his broken neck and letting the New Day cause down. Their subsequent TV segments were also great, and saw even the biggest scumbags in WWE’s rogue’s gallery and the pair’s own family members reacting to Woods and Kofi with disdain or shock at how low they had been sinking.

Going into WrestleMania 41, they were the most hated men in the company. They captured the tag titles on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All', and it seemed to signify that one of the greatest teams in WWE history had successfully reinvented themselves for another run on top. This...hasn't been the case, but New Day are certainly not to blame for that.

Last year's 'Mania was the last time they featured on a PLE. They've only won once on Monday Night Raw since that night. Quite what disconnected here between how great they are on camera and their standing on television is anyone’s guess. Grayson Waller is a superb performer, but feels like a weird fit with New Day. Also, at time of writing, we're 4 our months into 2026 and the act has been featured on Raw just once.

This has nothing to do with the brilliant work they've done since turning heel, and everything to do with how they have been unjustly dropped off the face of a cliff by creative.
