8 Wrestlers Who Broke All The Rules

5. Trish Stratus And Lita - Women As Main Eventers

Chyna may have broken the rules when it comes to a female dominating their male counterparts, but the majority of the Eighth Wonder of the World's time in the then-WWF saw women's matches consist of bullsh*t bra and panties contests and gravy bowl matches - meaning solid workers like Ivory, Jacqueline, and Luna Vachon were often overshadowed by far less accomplished 'wrestlers' like Sable, The Kat, and Terri Runnels.

Better in-ring workers would end up in the company as we entered the 2000s, with Molly Holly, Victoria, Trish Stratus, Lita, and Jazz arriving over the next few years - but still, the traditions of wrestling at that point called for there to be only a minor spotlight on female wrestlers.

It took far too long to get to it, but 2004 saw those outdated traditions thrown out of the window when Lita and Trish Stratus were given the opportunity to main event an episode of Monday Night Raw.

On a Raw featuring Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista, Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, and Chris Benoit, it was left to Women's Champion Stratus defending the gold against Lita to close out that 6 December 2004 show.

That main event is a huge moment in wrestling history, and it's one that paved the way for how female wrestling is these days perceived in WWE. It's just a huge shame that Trish vs. Lita on that 2004 night only got seven minutes.
