8 Wrestlers Who Got KNOCKED OUT (... & Still Finished Matches)

4. Shane McMahon

Not to mock anybody who had just that second been knocked into a concussive state, but there was something quite revealing about the subconscious of Shane McMahon when he instinctively kicked out of a mid-air spear by Roman Reigns at the 2016 Survivor Series.

'The Money' had been knocked loopy when 'The Big Dog' drilled him out of the sky midway through McMahon's coast-to-coast attempt, and when his mind simply wasn't there to register what was going on, his body went into a default setting that insisted he roll out of a cover attempt before he heard the referee slap three.

It's an audacious scene all the way around, and not even the first time in that match that McMahon found himself on the other end of some particularly hard shots. After going more than a bit too stiff on Chris Jericho with his "rapid" "punches" early on, he ate a dropkick full force to the face from a visibly infuriated 'Y2J'. McMahon was known for this sort of thing, such was his over-exuberance when given the chance to impress his Dad by playing wrestler on special occasions alongside the ones that lived it 365 days a year.

Once upon a time, McMahon having the idiotic gumption to try and survive a finisher would have played into his character before comeuppance arrived. By 2016 though, he was a guy with an ego bigger than half the men he feuded with - temporarily surviving a super-spear was par for the course for a nepo-baby who went toe-to-toe with The Undertaker inside Hell In A Cell several months earlier.
