8 Wrestlers Who Must Be Involved With IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown

Melina never got closure in IMPACT Wrestling.

Her Knockouts Title story was building to a match at NWA's Empowerrr pay-per-view. She's not featured in IMPACT programming since she failed to dethrone Deonna Purrazzo. Any other time, your writer would have let this fly, but given the circumstances of the event IMPACT is preparing to tape, another match or two from Melina seems apt.

With regards to who, exactly, she faces on the 9 October special, Taylor Wilde springs to mind. She desperately needs something to rid her of the stench that was the Influence rivalry, something that would be instantly achieved via a confrontation between the two.

This would work because both followed a somewhat similar path to reach today. Upon her WWE release in 2011, Melina was absent from the scene for a few years, taking a three-year absence between 2012 and 2015. Even with her return, she's nowhere near as busy as others from her generation. Meanwhile, when Wilde departed IMPACT in 2010, she retired, having just one other match post-IMPACT. She only returned in April.

There's a story to build there. No one would really care if Melina's IMPACT arc never officially culminates, but it should.
