8 Wrestlers Who Must Be Involved With IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown
4. Aubrey Edwards
Considering Aubrey Edwards refereed the Rebellion main event between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann, she's a safe bet for Knockouts Knockdown.
Easily AEW's greatest official, Edwards brings life to the role of the referee in the right way. When NXT referee Darryl Sharma performed a leapfrog during a match between MSK and Breezango, it detracted from what was otherwise a decent match. It's not as if the spot was unplanned, as Sharma was visibly in position; no one needed to see that.
With Aubrey, her voice is her strongest asset. She gets in the faces of AEW's repeat rulebreakers, rather than the bog standard pointing in your face nothingness that WWE referees have accustomed our eyes to. You almost want to abide by the rules just so you don't have her yelling down your throat.
That's the sort of referee that's needed for an event like Knockouts Knockdown. You can picture her standing over a Tenille Dashwood or a Tasha Steelz, putting them in their place without taking anything away from the match. That's the whole point of referees in professional wrestling; they shouldn't be leapfrogging just for a few Twitter likes.
