7. Angelico Instead Of Justin Gabriel
When Justin Gabriel was signed in 2008, WWE was in the midst of evolving into knowing that they needed a broader and deeper global profile. In retrospect, they likely signed a number of performers who, werethe first people that sprang to mind instead of the most marketable on their circuit. South African performer Justin Gabrie Justin Gabriel is a promoter and wrestler's son, and thus was probably the first name on the lips of WWE's world-travelled veterans. JUstin Gabriel and Angelico probably know each other well because one can't imagine that South Africa's circuit is enormous. In fact, the idea of daredevil babyfaces is probably a *thing* in that region of the world, given that Gabriel and Angelico have roughly the same gimmick. However, there's something in both WWE's seeming inability to really get what made Gabriel tick and something in Angelico's presentation as a completely unhinged high flyer in Lucha Underground that makes him undeniable that makes one wish that Angelico were given the chance that Gabriel was given seven years ago.
