8 Wrestlers Who Turned Down Big Money WWE Deals

5. Kenny Omega

Whether or not Kenny Omega has formally sat around a negotiating table with Vince McMahon and Triple H (and, perhaps, The Young Bucks, acting as his advisers) is a question to which we don't know the answer.

The Cleaner keeps his cards close to his chest, regularly teasing fans about an imminent move into the American mainstream only to then reiterate his commitment to NJPW. And, needless to say, WWE aren't likely to spill any beans either.

But it's pretty obvious he's been on the company's radar for a while now. They've made it their mission to sweep up all of the best independent wrestlers since NXT was established five years ago, and independent wrestlers don't come much better than Omega, a man who in 2017 helped redefine industry standards for a whole generation of fans.

All of that is to say that it's highly unlikely WWE hasn't at least - whether directly or through an intermediary - reached out to see if the Canadian is looking for a change of scenery. As with AJ Styles, they probably even offered him the rare opportunity to bypass NXT too - but, judging by the fact he's still in Japan, the answer seems to have been a firm "thanks, but no thanks".
