8 Wrestling Bloopers You Have To See

6. "F*ck It!"

Outside a telephone switchboard lathered in butter, you'd have struggled to find a smoother operator than 'Mean' Gene Okerlund. Before the cameras, the veteran interviewer effortlessly oozed charm and composure, and was regularly the assured glue connecting the outlandish nature of wrestling verbiage with the viewers at home.

Gene's feathers were generally unruffleable even when he was line dancing with the Gobbledy Gooker, making this rare crack in his coolness from SummerSlam '89 extra sweet. Ahead of his Intercontinental Title defence against The Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude joined Okerlund for a few words, but before 'Mean' Gene could even conclude his question, the backboard came tumbling down upon him.

"F*ck it!" exulted the micman, live on air, before immediately regaining his cool to ask, "Who put that up? Is that $200 an hour?"

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
