8 Wrestling Characters We Never Saw

Granted, Hornswoggle was eventually unveiled as Monday Night Raw's anonymous general manager in July 2012. But that just seemed like a satisfactory ending, leading some to question whether it's what WWE really had in mind from the outset.

What, if anything, they did have in mind, has never been made clear. It's very possible that the company simply conceived of this idea without knowing how it would end, hoping that a bolt of inspiration would shoot into their collective mind in the meantime.

After they failed to come up with anything better, the prevailing theory is that Hornswoggle was simply chosen in the aid of what they assumed would be a side-splittingly funny joke, on a par with the time he was revealed to be Vince McMahon's son in 2007.

Only problem was, this time, nobody was laughing. They already did that trick once, and after waiting more than two years to find out who was pulling Michael Cole's strings, it felt like a slap in the face to be told it was a minor character who had barely featured on-screen in ages.
