8 Wrestling Title Reigns That Officially Never Happened

6. Chris Jericho's First World Title Win

In 2000, the WWE was in a unique place. The face of the company, Steve Austin, was out with an injury. Mick Foley, who had become a household name, had retired. The Undertaker missed a significant portion of the year with an injury. The company was looking for new stars to step up. Chris Jericho did just that. During the April 27, 2000 Raw, the brash Chris Jericho coaxed WWF champion Triple H into defending his world title after berating and insulting his wife, Stephanie McMahon. Triple H accepted and was defeated, in large part due to a speedy count on behalf of Earl Hebner. Nonetheless, Jericho walked out with the title to a huge ovation. Triple H would go on and use his power to have Earl Hebner reverse his decision, rendering the title change null and void. Even though a real title victory didn't happen, it remains one of the most memorable moments in Jericho's career.
