Unlike Jim Ross and Joey Styles, Todd Grisham was never all that good as an announcer in WWE. In fact, he was downright deplorable at times. Nothing against him, though, as he was merely trying to do his job to the best of his ability, but there was never anything special about him or his skills behind the booth.

Nevertheless, he enjoyed a lengthy stay in WWE from 2004 to 2011 and served as a commentator on pretty much every brand: Raw, SmackDown, ECW, Superstars, and Heat. He started out as a backstage interviewer, but over time, he slowly made his way up the ladder, despite never really improving.

At one point, he called the action on SmackDown alongside Jim Ross, and if you aren't rising to the occasion under the learning tree of one of the greats, that job probably isn't for you. Vince McMahon quickly realized that and demoted him to NXT. He left for greener pastures at ESPN in 2011, where he spent five years before becoming a play-by-play commentator for UFC.

To answer your question, no, he is no better an announcer now than he was a decade ago.
