8 WWE Managers You Totally Don't Remember

6. Coach

Although John Tolos was a heel to be feared in the '50s and '60s, by the early '90s, he was easily the weakest of Mr. Perfect's trifecta of managers. The Genius and Bobby Heenan could both talk circles around Coach on the microphone, and Tolos was more notable for his whistle-blowing and gruff advising than for his managing work.

A classic example of the worker thriving in spite of his manager rather than because of him, Mr. Perfect -- injured back and all -- put on a clinic with Bret Hart at Summerslam 1991 in their battle for the Intercontinental Championship.

All Coach did was blow his whistle obnoxiously, before finally contributing to the match by distracting Bret, and getting decked for his trouble.

Curt Hennig took the next year off to return, doing commentary and working with Ric Flair, while Coach faded from our collective memory. A blink-and-you'll-miss-him player in WWF, for sure.
