8 WWE Matches Where The Crowd Was The Star

1. Roman Reigns Vs. Triple H (WrestleMania 32)

And truly, there is no better example of a crowd wholesale rejecting what WWE has offered them.

There have been faces booed by the crowd. There have been important main events crowds have hijacked. But when the crowd is rejecting the WrestleMania main event, and the crowning of the new face of the company, and it goes on for half an hour, that’s not a failure, that’s a beautiful catastrophe.

For months, WWE fans had flat-out told the company they did not want to see Roman Reigns face Triple H for the title in the main event. Yet, they went ahead anyway, and what followed was one of the most mind-boggling trainwrecks of the modern era. For 27 minutes and 11 seconds, the boos, irrelevant chants, and cheers for Triple H were relentless. Why bother paying attention to the match when everyone in the live audience had already given up? Keep in mind, this was in AT&T Stadium, so this was over 90,000 people rejecting this main event. It was the biggest WrestleMania both in its scope and how much its main event was a gigantic bust.

Roman Reigns continues to be booed, but never will he find himself in a situation as bad as WrestleMania 32’s main event... at least until next WrestleMania.
