Cameron was a contestant on the 2011 season of WWE Tough Enough, becoming the first member of the cast to be signed to a contract. She debuted in early 2012 alongside Naomi as one of the Funkadactyls, cheerleaders for Brodus Clay. The trio soon expanded to include Tensai, but when Clay turned heel and Tensai retired, Cameron and Naomi were on their own.

In 2014, Cameron briefly feuded with Divas' Champion Paige, but was unable to win the championship. She soon turned heel, feuding with Naomi and dissolving their team. Though Cameron picked up the first singles win between the two, her win/loss record started to suffer throughout 2014 and 2015. Late in 2015, she began to make television appearances for NXT, where she had been training to improve her in-ring skills.

Cameron was also a regular cast member on the first three seasons of E!'s Total Divas show, appearing with real-life friend Naomi and her boyfriend, Vinnie Isayan.

When Ryback recently posted a blog entry calling for equal pay for wrestlers, Cameron supported him on Twitter. She was then taken to task by fans online and replied to them in a blog post of her own.
