8 WWE Superstars Who Need To Go Away

6. Rusev With Lana

Here is the prime example of politics in action. Lana and Rusev were in their predictable post-Cena lull, as nearly every performer who comes out of a long, losing battle with John Cena tends to get stuck in a ditch. They were undefeated as a unit coming into it, and utterly deflated by the end of it. They were smack dab in a horrendous love triangle storyline where Dolph Ziggler was wooing Lana away from her Bulgarian bear of a man, Rusev. Absolutely no one wanted to see it, least of all Lana and Rusev themselves. Then it happened: Lana and Rusev shared their engagement to be married in real-life on social media. The wrestling world blew up, congratulating the happy couple and hoping secretly that it would spell the end of that atrocious storyline, one that is arguably the worst in recent years, given the quality and derailment of top flight talents. It did put an end to the storyline. It killed their push, as well.
The unfortunate side effect sent Lana on a downward spiral that she is still recovering from backstage. After trashing Paige on social media, things only worsened for the blonde bombshell in the locker room, while Rusev was allowed to float in the rocky waters of desperation. Joining the League of Nations helped momentarily until it became painfully obvious that the stable is a Jack Swagger away from being renamed the League of Stagnation. Still, Rusev has the most promise of any of his stablemates, and he is only perfect in a package deal with his beloved (who doesn€™t need to be wrestling, given how deep the women€™s roster is at the moment). Once the group inevitably dissolves, it may be for the best to take the pair off TV for a few months and re-introduce them with a big winning streak that could run to another U.S. Title victory in hopes that folks will forget about their abysmal downfall.
