8 WWE Superstars Who Were Never Eliminated From The Royal Rumble

6. Hornswoggle

Looking back at the number of times WWE used Hornswoggle to climb out of holes they wrote themselves into, wrestling fans should rejoice knowing the resident leprechaun didn’t win the 2008 Royal Rumble match. When plans for Mr. Kennedy to come out as Vince McMahon’s illegitimate child were nixed, Hornswoggle was the answer. When the WWE Universe demanded to know who the Anonymous RAW General Manager was, Hornswoggle was the answer.

Upon entering the Rumble match, Hornswoggle spent most of his time hiding under the ring. He popped back up to help eliminate superstars, namely The Miz, but Mark Henry ultimately caught him. Luckily, Finlay entered ahead of his designated number and began swinging a shillelagh until both men exited under the ropes.

While Finlay was DQ’d later for either entering the Rumble match too early or using a foreign object, there was no word on Hornswoggle. Whereas many superstars were removed because they failed to make it to the actual match, Hornswoggle did make it in and was a legal competitor. In essence, if WWE wanted to toss out the outcome of the 2008 Rumble match, they could have called on their proprietary Patsy Hornswoggle. Luckily they didn’t, and the match moved on without much concern for the little guy.
