9 Awesome WWE Matches From Criminally Short Title Reigns

1. The Rock vs. Triple H (Judgment Day 2000)

The nature of the Attitude Era dictated that titles pinged back and forth between the same wrestlers regularly. That was the case in 2000 when 3 consecutive pay-per-views showcased WWE Title switches; Triple H lost it to The Rock at Backlash, regained it at Judgment Day and then Rock won the thing again in a 6-man tag at King Of The Ring.

Judgment Day is the focus here. The Rock and Triple H battled out a 60-minute Iron Man match (one of the best matches of that type ever) in the main event, only for The Undertaker to make his grand return and interfere. His Tombstone on Triple H caused special ref Shawn Michaels to disqualify The Rock and gift a 6-5 win to his opponent.

The Rock's 21-day run as champion was too short, and yet the Iron Man encounter still holds up today. Rock's Backlash win should have happened at 'Mania 2000 too, something that only makes the Judgment Day loss a little perplexing.
