Another Edge hidden gem came at SummerSlam 2001. This was during the hectic WCW/ECW Invasion storyline, so it's understandable if some are happy to write this one off as throwaway. Only adding to that idea, the Intercontinental Title reign of Lance Storm ran for just 27 days. Yeah, we know, and this would be his only one.

Storm was talented enough to hold the IC gold for at least a few months, but WWE cut him short at SummerSlam in favour of Edge. The reigning King Of The Ring at the time was in the midst of a major push, meaning the victory doesn't come as a surprise. It does suck that Lance wasn't given more time though.

As a standalone effort, the SummerSlam opener is worth your time. You need to see how well Storm and Edge could work together; even with the ongoing melodrama of Christian's 'accidental' interference purring away in the background they still produced a mini-classic.
