9 Ballsiest WWE Promos Ever

2. HBK's Return To Montreal

There has never been more heat generated from a single line in all of WWE history. Four little words kicked off what would become one of Shawn Michaels' defining promos, and it remains untouchable these days in terms of crowd antagonization:

"Who's your daddy, Montreal?"

What followed was some of the loudest, most exaggerated booing you've ever heard. But ol' HBK didn't stop there. He proceeded to roll right into a disrespectful version of "O Canada", too. Hell, he even copped Vince's slogan and transferred more heat back onto himself, proclaiming proudly that "I screwed Bret! I did it once, and I'd do it again".

By the time Bret Hart's instantly recognisable music hit and his name appeared on the TitanTron, the crowd was worked into a hysterical frenzy, generating an earth-shaking pop. Of course, this was just HBK further provoking the crowd, as Hart was never actually scheduled to show up. This methodical, borderline sinister approach he used to stoke the fire that night should be required viewing for every heel in the WWE locker room. Masterful.
