9 Best Post-Royal Rumble WWE Raw Moments
1. Ric Flair Vs. Mr Perfect (1993)
Not only was Ric Flair's meeting with Mr Perfect a great match to follow the 1993 Royal Rumble, it was also Monday Night Raw's first great match - period. It came on 25 January - just two weeks after the show premiered on the USA Network from the Manhattan Centre.
The story here pretty much wrote itself. Ric Flair, winner of the '92 Rumble, had been eliminated the previous night by Perfect, who also happened to be embroiled at the time in a long-running feud with Bobby Heenan, an interested spectator watching from ringside.
The resulting grudge match was a triumph both of technical wrestling (well, you wouldn't really have expected anything else given the two men involved) and high-stakes live televised drama. The loser, so it was stipulated, would be forced to depart the company - which meant the crowd couldn't take their eyes off the ring.
If you know your wrestling history, then you won't need reminding of the outcome. This was to be The Nature Boy's final televised WWE match in nearly a decade, after he decided shortly thereafter to return to Ted Turner's WCW.
