9 Big Problems With WWE Heading Into WrestleMania 41
9. IC Title Drops In Prestige

Every time Bron Breakker comes out on Raw, the announcers talk him up tremendously, saying he’s the next big thing in WWE. And while there’s a modicum of truth there, the second-generation superstar and his Intercontinental Championship are nowhere near the focus they should be heading into WrestleMania 41.
Last year, Gunther versus Sami Zayn (more on him later) was a major match and one of the biggest highlights of the weekend. Granted, you can’t manufacture a 600-plus-day IC title reign in a few short months to add stakes, but here WWE are three weeks out and the Intercontinental Championship picture still hasn’t come into focus.
More and more, it’s looking like Breakker could be defending the title against Penta… and Finn Balor… and Dominik Mysterio… and maybe others. (There’s always a chance someone like a Ludwig Kaiser and/or Sheamus get folded into the mix.
A multi-man mid-card title match isn’t the worst thing, but when you’re billing Bron as a future megastar and the best you’ve got is a forced-together blob of wrestlers (including two from the same stable) fighting for the title, that shows it isn’t a focal point. It’s a “get a bunch of guys on the card” match.
It’s just shocking to remember last year’s IC title match and see how this one is being crafted around guys who have all failed to unseat Breakker, making for a heatless “build.”
