1. Goldberg Says Goodbye

It's been widely reported that Bill Goldberg's contract is up following his WrestleMania 33 bout with Brock Lesnar. Everyone expects the current Universal champion to drop the title to "The Beast", and the original plan was for Goldberg to head back into retirement.

Then, word started making the rounds that WWE has been extremely pleased with the return on investment from this recent Goldberg run, and is open to signing him for more dates beyond Orlando. All signs indicate that the two parties could agree to continue doing business following 'Mania.

However, Goldberg recently told Edge and Christian on their new podcast that he's been "miserable" during his current WWE run, speaking on the tremendous amount of effort it's taken him to get back into the kind of shape the fans expect to see him in. He said that all he's done is eat and lift, which has forced him to abandon cardio training entirely, something he was never known for to begin with.

If it's taken as much out of him as he claims - and the match with Lesnar is different from their previous gentle affairs wherein Brock immediately takes two moves and looks up at the lights - it's entirely possible that Goldberg will have no interest in returning.

Even if he is open to hanging around a little while longer, the right play would be to lead fans to believe that he's done, have him give the retirement speech while basking in "Thank you, Goldberg" chants, then leave the door open for yet another unexpected surprise return somewhere (soon?) down the line.
