This is another match that has been hinted at non-stop over the past few years, leading many to believe that it's only a matter of time before Triple H and The Rock lock horns in WWE once more. The pair were relied upon to carry much of the main event burden throughout 2000 - mainly due to the combined absences of men such as Steve Austin and The Undertaker - and have always worked well with one another. Reportedly, there is rumoured real-life heat between both guys, stemming from Triple H and Shawn Michaels apparently trying to stop Rocky from reaching main event status in the then-WWF during the late-1990's. Whether or not such tales are 100% true remains to be seen, but the important thing is that many fans buy into it, and even those who take nothing to do with backstage stories perceive both guys as major stars. Perhaps this is one best kept on the back burner, maybe even for WrestleMania 32. Fans have waited this long (it seems like forever and a lifetime ago that Triple H and The Rock last met inside the ring), so there's no real rush to book such a match. There's a case to be made that the rivalry needs more attention before it's ready for actual matches, but that could easily be done within a matter of weeks on Raw and Smackdown.
