SANADA will come up short in the final however. Kazuchika Okada is rightly the face of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and that isn't going to change any time soon. SANADA is going to be a vital part of New Japan's future, but he will have to wait before making the full transition to the top table.

Okada, Omega, and Naito are NJPW's top three right now, and that is how things will remain in 12 months time. With Okada and Naito likely to headline Wrestle Kingdom 12, it is entirely plausible that one of the two will return to the main event in 2019, with 'The Cleaner' standing opposite.

In 2018, Kazuchika Okada will become only the third man in history to win three G1 Climax tournaments. 'The Rainmaker' will join Masahiro Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan in that group, and it isn't difficult to imagine Okada going on to eclipse Chono's five tournament victories.

Okada will win the G1 Climax in 2018, and Okada/Omega will once again headline the Tokyo Dome.
