The 'One & Only' donned black and yellow for his United States Championship victory, quite possibly to pay proper respect and tribute to his NXT proving ground shortly before that very legacy would be celebrated in a backstage vignette.

Soon after scooping Samoa Joe's only-recently-regained belt, Ricochet was met backstage by the welcome applause of some former NXT colleagues as well as Full Sail godfather Triple H. It was a touching show of support for the new Champion, just as his tights were to his brief but brilliant time on the developmental brand.
