9 Indie Stars Who Didn't Catch On In WWE

1. Colt Cabana

This still puzzles me to this day. Cabana is as good as anyone going when it comes to comedy wrestling, and has also proved more than capable of putting on intense shows at the same time. He has a great look, great size, great ability and a true love of the professional wrestling business. When he signed with WWE in 2007 the overriding feeling was that it was about time.

Colt Cabana became Scotty Goldman, and Scotty Goldman did not have a great time in WWE. He was immediately established as a jobber, and despite gaining his own WWE YouTube show Goldman is part of a rather depressing club; the men who lost every single match they had on WWE TV.

Still, the experience increased Cabana's notoriety and led to him starting the Art of Wrestling podcast that is one of the best wrestling podcasts going. Still, his time in WWE can only be remembered as a failure.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
