This wasn€™t John€™s fault. With a sudden injury to Daniel Bryan, who WWE spent 8 months building, they were forced into putting the title on their most reliable and bankable talent, John Cena. John Cena is the only face on this list. While a few different reigns could have earned a place here, this one is by far the most interesting. With the sudden change in Bryan€™s fortunes, Cena won his 15th world title in an 8-man ladder match at Money in The Bank. In this match, there were no other candidates aside from Orton that would have made sense. In an interesting twist, Cena haters didn€™t care. The resentment started building the next night when Michael Cole repeatedly declared Cena to be the greatest WWE Champion ever around 49 times. Cole by way of WWE had crossed over to championship overkill level. For a 2 month title reign, Cena expectedly didn€™t get a chance to really do much with the belt. He faced Roman Reigns, Kane and Orton in a fatal 4 way, and then lost the title to Lesnar in a beat down of previously unseen proportions. It was seen as €œrevenge€ for all the wrestlers Cena had €œruined€. Fans hated John Cena so much at this point; they seemed to be willing to accept a Part Time Wrestler as champion. Conversely, people are looking for something new. Brock Lesnar just came off breaking The Streak, and fans may have rioted had Cena defeated Lesnar after. A Cena win would not only have alienated fans, but buried The Streak. Flat out, people are just sick of the guy. Which is fair, but they fail to realize what he€™s done for the business.
