9 Minor WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Changes That Would Make A Major Difference

4. Brock Lesnar Vs. Finn Bálor - Braun In The Rumble

Better still, why not book Brock Lesnar against Finn Bálor?

The 2018 Royal Rumble was absolutely the right time to book the match, yet WWE has eschewed it in favour of a big lads Triple Threat that does little to hype the show. Many have speculated as to why Brock vs. Bálor isn’t happening - but the ball has well and truly been dropped.

Brock Lesnar should have defended the WWE Universal Championship against Finn Bálor at the Royal Rumble. What’s more, Bálor should have competed as himself without the Demon get-up, ticking the first box in what could have been a star-making story. Bálor would have been forced to bring out the Demon against Brock further down the line, in a guaranteed money-maker for WWE.

If WWE had decided to book Lesnar vs. Bálor at the Rumble, The Monster Among Men would have been free to dominate the eponymous match. Strowman had a brief starring role in last year’s match, but the prevailing feeling is that there is a commanding Rumble performance in his career. Braun could have entered the match early and eliminated a host of stars before falling to whoever his WrestleMania opponent may be.

Instead, we get Brock vs. Braun vs. Kane. Hooray.
