Triple H is a man with power. Everyone realises and accepts that. Ever since hooking up with Stephanie McMahon in the early 2000s, it was known that Triple H would one day occupy a position of considerable power in the organisation, if not taking over the company itself. But Triple H was viewed as a locker room leader long before becoming Vice President Of Talent Relations/Live Events/Creative. Triple H had done his time and taken his licks (he was punished by the WWF in response to the infamous Curtain Call incident). Triple H paid his dues in the company and began to climb the ladder. Although he and Shawn Michaels alienated the rest of the locker room during their run as D-X, Triple H began to gain the respect of the rest of the boys following Michaels departure in 1998. He took ahold of the reins of D-X and showed significant improvement in his performances. Triple H was destined to make it to the top and was instrumental in helping the WWF win the war against WCW. In 2000, Triple H was arguably the best wrestler in the world. He had phenomenal matches with Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, The Rock, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. It was around this time that he began taking more of a leadership role backstage as well. In 2001, Triple H cut an impassioned speech about the wrestling business to the cast of Tough Enough. Apparently this is the type of thing that Triple H would do to low-level talents backstage. At some point in 2002, Triple H held a meeting with the wrestlers where he basically told the members of the Raw roster that they all sucked and that they had to step up their game. Amazingly, this entire diatribe was poster verbatim on WWE.com. Triple H was resented by a lot of wrestlers at the time but he was unquestionably the leader of the Raw locker room. There is no doubt that Triple H is well-respected backstage. Now, in his role as producer on NXT, he mentors the future stars of the WWE. A true leader. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvyfEW9zra4
